Not that I am preparing to attend any classes, the student in me still desires fresh school supplies and new clothes in the late summer/early fall nonetheless.
It reminds me of the quote from You’ve Got Mail. Tom Hanks as Joe Fox narrated his email to Meg Ryan as Kathleen Kelly: “Don’t you love New York in the fall? It makes me wanna buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address.”
I love Kate Spade‘s aesthetic, so I signed up for her emails and liked her on facebook. Back on July 31st, there was an email featuring office items and I feel in love with this 17-month planner. I pictured it on my desk looking so chic.
After budgeting for the designer purchase, I finally ordered it on Amazon (since it was sold out on her website) and it arrived yesterday.
It is so nice. I love the bold black-and-white stripes.
Inside, there are fun phrases that mark each month. Plus, polka dots!
My planner at work is essential, but my smart phone has replaced an agenda and handwritten to do list for my life in recent years. I look forward to getting back to writing things down …and checking them off. This beautiful book definitely satisfies my craving for school supplies.
How funny that I just watched that movie last night (for the 83rd time). I am 48 years old and I still love "back-to-school" shopping and just bought myself some new pens and an old-fashioned composition book (but with a yellow cover) to use as an office journal if you will of notes, assignments, voicemails, etc. I also have all the electronic tools but I do still love writing with a lovely pen 🙂 Your Kate Spade planner is very chic.
Even though I've seen it as many times as you have, I still do need to watch it sometime soon…
Thank you for the compliment. I am still working out a system of using my new planner for my social and home cleaning schedule. Pen and paper is the way to go for me.
