Style Sunday: Ankle Pants

Ankle pants have piqued my interest recently...

I wonder if they would work on me as I simply do not have the longest, leanest legs. Also, I'm wondering if a pair in a rich jewel tone would flatter me... Loft does offer this particular pant in pomegranate, but I'm unsure. I will have to do some shopping! If I decide that they would be a perfect addition to my wardrobe, then I will review them on this blog.

I prefer a classic pump or peeptoe with this cut of pant, rather than the strappy sandals featured in the first picture. Some sort of ankle strap stops the eye from scanning a long line head to toe. ...or possibly a ballet flat... Whichever heel height, it would be nice not to worry too much over the perfect length/hemline like I would for a pair of trousers or bootcut pants. Ankle pants would definitely let the shoes stand out.

  1. I think the ankle pants in that red with a black silk top would be pretty. Can't wait to see if these work for you!

    1. I'll let you know. Maybe there's a birthday shopping spree in my future... And if I come across a pair of emerald pants in my search, I'll definitely let you know.

  2. I love ankle pants and I do not have long legs either. They do show off your shoes. I find that the closer they fit to the leg without being too tight like a legging, the better they look. I've used a tailor to get a pair just right and now they are my favorite pants. You should try them!

  3. I've never really liked ankle pants. I'm tall with long legs and I've always felt they looked like I couldn't find pants long enough. Maybe if they were a slimmer fit, but being a plus sized women I'm not sure slim fits would look good. It would be nice to not worry about getting the right length and having different pants for different heel heights. They can look really nice on someone slim, I should probably try them just to see if they work for me.

    1. My first thought is that they would look good on someone slim. I'm of average weight and height but have more muscular and shorter legs than average. I will try them and then make up my mind. I'm just so busy that I haven't yet. I'm just so concerned with having a perfect silhouette, doing everything right. One or two trendy pieces would be refreshing in my small classic wardrobe. Plus, it seems to fit in with a more polished casual look.
