Italian Sunday Dinner Party Preparation

The Italian Sunday dinner party I'm throwing is two weeks away, on Sunday, February 12th.

In preparation, I have invited three friends, purchased a plain white tablecloth for my dining room table, and designated my last $20 grocery store gift card (that I received at Christmas) to shopping for the event.

I have also created the following menu with assistance of my Italian penpal B:

Menu

Antipasti (Appetizers)
prosciutto
soppressata
an Italian cheese (yet to be determined. Any suggestions?)
bread
olive oil (the flavorful kind for dipping)

Primo Piatto (First Course)
Penne Pasta Primavera (Penne pasta with vegetables in tomato sauce, likely zucchini and red pepper.)

Secondo Piatto (Second Course)
roasted chicken with grape tomatoes and rosemary
olive-oil roasted gold potatoes

Contorni (Vegetables)
sauteed spinach with garlic

My Penne Pasta Primavera

Two of my guests are bringing a dessert, keeping with the Italian theme. And the other will be contributing a couple bottles of wine.

I'm looking forward to it.
